Verizon DNS Servers, CGNAT and IPv6

Verizon Fios uses regional DNS resolvers like 71.250.0.12 and 71.242.0.12. Fios gets a public IPv4 address; Verizon 5G Home and LTE Home use CGNAT.

Verizon runs a pair of resolvers per region and your router receives the nearest ones automatically. The examples here reverse-resolve to Verizon resolver names (nssctn01, nsphil01 and nsrest01.verizon.net) in AS701, which we confirmed on 24 October 2026. Verizon doesn't publish an official list, so check yours with the What is my DNS server tool or in your router. Fios connections get a public IPv4 address; Verizon's 5G Home and LTE Home services use carrier-grade NAT. IPv6 on Fios is being rolled out region by region.
